SAF DEK™ AND SAFE GUARD SURFACING BECOME PATHWAY SURFACES, Inc.

 

 

 

SAF DEK™ by Pathway Surfaces, Inc., and SAFE GUARD Surfacing Corporation have merged to form Pathway Surfaces, L.L.C., for the purpose of jointly marketing and installing their proprietary rubber safety surfacing products throughout the United States.  Pathway Surfaces, L.L.C., was formed on May 1, 2006 as the largest privately held poured in place safety surfacing company in the industry. 

 

Pathway Surfaces, Inc. will continue to use both the SAF DEK™ and SAFE GUARD brands for poured in place installations, and the result will be to streamline the operations of both companies.    SAF DEK™ is the “original” poured in place safety surface and the market leader in technology, quality and experience.  SAFE GUARD Surfacing is a surfacing company providing customers with poured in place and also rubber matting and pre-formed tiles.

 

The benefits of the agreement include:

§              Expanding the resource base – With offices strategically located across the country, Pathway Surfaces, Inc. will offer its customers the most competitive pricing.  Also, the combined resources allows for continued research and development for a higher level of safety surfacing products.

§              More choices and more flexibility – Pathway Surfaces now offer its customers products outfitted for their region.   In addition, the product line has expanded to include four new products:  MASTER Mulch, MASTER Bound Mulch, Playground Grass and Quartz Carpet.

§              Enhanced customer service – With three strategically located offices, Pathway Surfaces, Inc. will be able to offer superior customer service from the point of sale, installation coordination and follow up when necessary.

New Company Leadership

Mr. Underwood, owner of SAFE GUARD Surfacing, will serve as the president, chief operating officer of the combined company.  Mr. Rome, owner of SAF DEK, will serve as the chief executive officer.   The initial board of directors will be Mr. Underwood and Mr. Rome.
